A choice edible and highly praised medicinal supplement, the Lions Mane mushroom is one of our most popular liquid cultures. We frequently sell out, so get it while it's in stock! This mushroom is worth getting your hands on. It’s a relatively low-maintenance species that needs mild humidity and some fresh air to produce flavorful, medicinal, white-toothed mushroom pom poms.

Whether used to create incredible crabcake meals, or as an industry-advancing medicinal supplement, Lion’s Mane does it all.

Lion's Mane as a Food:

Lion’s Mane Mushrooms are a popular substitute for meat, with a spongy texture perfect for soaking up and holding flavor. Their taste is often said to resemble lobster, and there are numerous ways of preparing them, either as an appetizing side-dish or as your main meal. One of the most delicious methods is to roast and sauté; in butter until golden brown, but they can also be prepared as steaks, added to soups, or fried in a pan, sliced, and dipped in hot butter.

Cultivation Information:

Lion's Mane Mushrooms are unique, slightly slower-colonizing fungi.

Lion’s Mane mycelium can appear very fine, sometimes invisible to the human eye. Often mistaken for contamination, it can be difficult to know when it is fully colonized and ready for the fruiting stage. Lion’s Mane mycelium is easy to mistake for cobweb mold when you first grow it. The grain spawn should start to become slightly lighter in color, with the fungi itself remaining largely transparent.

Unlike Oyster mushrooms, Lion's Mane need less fresh air to develop properly. That doesn't mean they will grow properly without fresh air; it just means you can get away with providing less.

After harvest, you can expect to see more mushrooms push through within 7-14 days. You will want to keep growing conditions rather constant throughout these crop cycles, as you may easily see 3 to 4 before the block is “spent”.

Each Liquid Culture Syringe purchased includes:
